Juliet’s thoughts: 我要你的爱 (I Want Your Love)

An unusual afternoon gig with many tiny surprises.

Phillips Singapore takes real good care of their people. Having lunchtime concerts is one of their ways of caring for their staff, and we were happy to be able to bring some smiles and laughter that day.

A mixture of mandarin and english jazz and contemporary numbers including Let’s Fall In Love, L-O-V-E, La Vie En Rose, 恋之憩 (Love Dock),给我一个吻 (Give Me A Kiss),brought many rounds of applause and warm smiles.

What really rocked up the canteen were 2 songs in particular, 甜蜜蜜 (Honey Sweet) and 我要你的爱 (I Want Your Love). The latter song especially really got them cheering and singing in response.

It was awesome to see them having so much fun. And somewhere in the middle of the song, a cheery senior walked up to the stage and gave me a box of strawberries (which Feri benefitted in the end) to show his appreciation for the music!

Stephen shared that he really loved the whole atmosphere, so positive and vibrant and i agreed. We all had a great time just throwing some good music and good times together.

Compliments from Philips:

Many of our employees stayed to listen to the band although they’ve finished their lunch.

When Juliet was singing the song that goes like 我, 我要, …, 我要你的爱, the crowd even sang with her! In fact, the crowd was cheering every song sung and simply delighted with the performance.

An employee was so impressed with Juliet’s singing that he bought a box of strawberries from our fruit store and went up stage to give Juliet. It was really an unexpected move and it sent the crowd roaring into laughter.

They were indeed very entertained. When our SRCS chairman went up stage to give a short speech before the last song, the audience actually thought it has ended and shouted “encore”. Feri and Stephen also put up a terrific show.

Everyone was full of praises and at the end of the performance, some employees were already asking the SRCS members if this live band will be coming back for another performance, I think that says it all.

We will certainly look into the possibility of engaging A Little Dream to perform again! Thanks for the wonderful performance! 🙂
