Our wedding couples have often asked us for march-in songs that are not so commonly used, well so here are our humble suggestions to share with everyone! (If you’d like commonly used march-in song, please refer to this blog post!)

1. Best Day Of My Life – American Authors

Sound: High/Party
Suitable for 1st or 2nd march-in

This song is so high right from the start that it’s bound to kick your wedding celebration off with a big bang! If you are having a ‘live’ band, the ideal band combination to bring the song out is a Singer + Guitarist/Pianist + Cajon combination.

I had a dream so big and loud
I jumped so high I touched the clouds
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-o-o-oh
I stretched my hands out to the sky
We danced with monsters through the night
Wo-o-o-o-o-oh, wo-o-o-o-o-oh

I’m never gonna look back
Woah, never gonna give it up
No, please don’t wake me now

This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife
This is gonna be the best day of my life
My li-i-i-i-i-ife

2. I Choose You – Sara Bareilles
Sound: Acoustic/Intimate
Suitable for 2nd march-in

This song is especially suitable for cosy & intimate venues!

There was a time when I would have believed them
If they told me that you could not come true
Just love’s illusion
But then you found me
And everything changed
And I believe in something again

My whole heart
Will be yours forever
This is a beautiful start
To a lifelong love letter

Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose You
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose You
I choose You

3. Still Falling For You – Ellie Goulding
Sound: High/Grand
Suitable for 1st or 2nd march-in

Taken off the sound track of ‘Bridget Jones & Baby’, this is the newest track we would recommend for a march-in. Scroll to the song at 1 min 58s for our recommended start for the march-in; then at 2mins 19s, imagine the ballroom door opening and the wedding couple marching in to the grand sound of the chorus. SWEET.

It took us a while
‘Cause we were young and unsure
With love on the line
What if we both would need more
But all your flaws and scars are mine
Still falling for you
Still falling for you
Still falling for you

(Recommended: Ballroom door to open and couple to march-in from chorus)

And just like that
All I breathe
All I feel
You are all for me
I’m in
And just like that
All I breathe
All I feel
You are all for me
No one can lift me, catch me the way that you do
Still falling for you

This is especially ideal for wedding venues with a shorter aisle, because the duration of the above is slightly less than 1 minute!

If you’d like the drum groove from 1min 58s, do add a cajon to the ‘live’ band for a better groove. Otherwise, a singer and a guitarist/pianist will deliver the music well too.

4. Tenerife Sea – Ed Sheeran

Sound: Romantic/Acoustic
Suitable for 1st or 2nd march-in

Recommended march-in part:

You look so beautiful in this light
Your silhouette over me
The way it brings out the blue in your eyes
Is the Tenerife sea

And all of the voices surrounding us here
They just fade out when you take a breath
Just say the word and I will disappear
Into the wilderness

And should this be the last thing I see
I want you to know it’s enough for me
‘Cause all that you are is all that I’ll ever need

I’m so in love, so in love
So in love, so in love

The above is about 1 minute in duration; if you’d like a shorter version (for a shorter aisle), you may have the ‘live’ band customise it for you in this way:

You look so beautiful in this light
Your silhouette over me
Just say the word and I will disappear
Into the wilderness

And should this be the last thing I see
I want you to know it’s enough for me
‘Cause all that you are is all that I’ll ever need

I’m so in love, so in love
So in love, so in love

5. Overwhelmed – Tim McMorris

Sound: Romantic/Acoustic/Folk
Suitable for 1st or 2nd march-in

With a ‘live’ band, you may customise the song to make it suit the length of your aisle. Recommended part for march-in:

From the first time I saw you
I knew that you’d be mine
And from the first glance you gave
My world it slowed, you stopped the time

And in that moment I could see all of the things that we would be
You were the girl I was waiting for, that’d I’d ask to marry me…
(skip verse 2 if you’d have a shorter aisle)

And I am, over-whelmed, by you
Am, over come with joy
You’ve, taken me higher, and shown me what love can do
Where would I go, or be, without you

Love the lyrics and melody but don’t like the ‘sound’ of the song? Get a ‘live’ band to revamp it and jazz it up to a sound you like!
