Do note however that hotels do change policies from time to time without informing external vendors, hence please still do a verification with your wedding venue coordinator.
If a venue has a baby grand piano or an upright piano, it does make the ‘look’ of the band sleeker, but do note that the band will not be able to be located onstage because the stages are typically not built to withstand the weight of a piano.
If a baby grand piano or an upright piano is used, the live band will be located right next to the stage (either to the left or the right, offstage).
In fact, unless the venue is maxed out for the guests, live bands are typically located off-stage (or on a side-stage) so that the stage looks less cluttered (sans the music stands, mic stands, floor monitor, cables, instruments etc). If it is a wedding, there would be more space for the wedding couple and the yum-seng entourage!
