Hsin Yeow’s thoughts: Moondance
In the midst of a detailed speech about how he and Peng Tzee (Peng) met and fell in love, Darren turned to Peng and remarked, “You know the one quality I’ve always loved about you is your laughter. Your laughter makes everyone happy. Thanks for bringing joy to my life!” When Peng blushed at the unexpected praise, Darren added cheekily, “What, don’t I get a kiss?”
Darren and Peng’s intimate and elegant wedding was made possible not just because of Hannah and her wonderful team (Heaven’s Gift), but also by their friends who came all the way from Australia and other parts of the world to be there and celebrate the union of the lovely couple. In return, Darren and Peng spared no expense to ensure good food and drink were in abundance.
James, Melvin and I provided the night’s entertainment. It was a joy working with James, who always manages to find a way to make the arrangements refreshing. He introduced me to Melvin, who plays bass like a man possessed.
The first set of songs set the mood for a relaxed and convivial evening, with classics like (I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons, It Had To Be You and 我是真的付出我的爱 (I’m Truly Giving You My Love). For our second set of songs, we cranked up the funk machine and introduced some uptempo numbers like You To Me Are Everything, Moondance and 給我一個吻 (Give Me A Kiss). Our efforts were rewarded when the guests crowded the make-shift dance floor to boogie the night away!
