Junxiong’s thoughts: 我们的爱 (Our Love)
Getting married on the 15th day of first month in lunar year is definitely a golden choice that most Asians will look forward to for their Big Day. This is because apart from being the Lantern Festival (元宵节), the 15th of Lunar month is also treated as the Eastern Valentine’s Day (东方情人节). And this is precisely the auspicious date where our lucky and cheerful couple, John and Jess, tied their knot!
According to Jess’s sister, John and Jess have known each other since Primary school days, where John had been secretly carrying a torch for Jess ever since then. And fate did bring them together when their dating started 4-5yrs back. This love story and courtship process sure sounds like a fairy tale to most of us, how I envy…
One memorable highlight of the event is during the 2nd march-in when our lovey couple strides gracefully into the ballroom in some Shanghai-like outfit. John was smartly dressed in black with a scarf around his neck while Jess stuns the guests with her beautiful red gown complemented with some elegant and asian-like embroideries (checkout the wedding photo). And the couple has deliberately selected the evergreen canto-pop “上海滩” for this 2nd march-in which easily raises the eyebrows of all the guests when HuiBing rendtioned it. What an unforgettable sight.
Our singing for the night was also very well-received by all the wedding guests, with quite a handful of them walking to us complimenting on our performance. We deeply appreciate it.
Congrats again, John and Jess. Your love finally flourishes on this very day and we wish you a blissful and everlasting marriage for the countless years ahead!
