Imelda’s thoughts: Somewhere Out There

I’ve been to the zoo a few times these past two years since my son Joshua was born. But never did I think that I would have the chance to go to the zoo to sing for a wedding celebration. It was a rather interesting experience for Wah Yong, Wilson and I to “fast walk” our way back to the entrance after our performance, in almost absolute pitch darkness, using only our basic instincts to whiff our way back into civilization. I think the boys had a secret fear that some animal “somewhere out there” was going to pounce on them, cause I have never seen Wah Yong walk/run so fast before!!

In true fairy tale fashion, the lovely couple made their grand entrance in a horse-drawn carriage. For indeed, Michelle looked just like a beautiful princess in her stunning white gown and Zhiliang, a handsome knight in his smart military outfit. The whole fairy tale package was made complete with a sword-bearers ceremonial march-in.

(I’ve always had a secret wish to have sword bearers at my own wedding, but unfortunately, I didn’t marry a uniformed personnel. Come to think of it, my husband doesn’t even have to serve reservist! Oops!)

We had the privilege to meet Samantha, the bride’s sister, who was an absolute joy. She has such a friendly and bubbly disposition and was ever ready to offer help with anything that we might have needed. Thanks Samantha for making sure the band was well-fed!

Congratulations Michelle and Zhiliang for having found your special someone in this big and wild “Somewhere Out There”. May you have a wonderful and exciting life together! God Bless!
