Bevlyn’s thoughts: More Than Words
Everyone invited to the wedding dinner of Shuqin and Kangwei could tell how in love and committed they are to each other; Shuqin put it loud and clear to Kangwei in her thank you speech, “I couldn’t have made it without you (through all the ups and downs in her life)…You’re probably the best thing that ever happened to me.”
Kangwei thanked his wife too, but honestly I remember more of the anecdote revealed by Shuqin’s bridesmaid– one fine day Kangwei suddenly looked into her eyes lovingly, touched her hair and all that, and said lovingly, “Dear, you complete me….because for things I don’t like to do, you do them for me...” Everyone almost split their sides with laughter, but no, I do not think anyone misconstrued the message 🙂
I was ecstatic to see the couple requesting for La Isla Bonita, it’s probably not a wedding song, but it’s fun to sing (and relaxing to listen too).
And if you’re looking out for Chinese classics which are not too overplayed in weddings,
读你 (Reading You Like a Book) is a good one to consider.
It was also a lot of fun to sing with Zhengquan because he was an ‘auntie killer’ that evening when he belted out the Mandarin classics like 爱你在心口难开 (I Love You More Than I Can Say), 月亮代表我的心 (The Moon Represents My Heart) – a whole table of guests sang along with him!
We wish Kangwei & Shuqin many more fun, loving and blissful years to come! Congratulations again!
