Bevlyn’s Thoughts: 爱很简单

Jazel and Darryl had a good imagination of how they wanted the march-in to be like. The band would perform “When You Tell Me That You Love Me”:

I wanna call the stars           Down from the sky
I wanna live a day                  That never dies
I wanna change the world   Only for you
All the impossible                 I wanna do

(Door opens for the couple to march-in)
I wanna hold you close        Under the rain
I wanna kiss your smile      And feel the pain
I know what’s beautiful        Looking at you
In a world of lies                   You are the truth

The yum-seng was one of the strongest orchestra I’ve ever heard in all my years of wedding singing. I was told that Jazel is a teacher, and hence I thought the people on the stage were teachers, who supposedly need to have lung power to keep classes under control. But we were later told that part of the orchestra were their aunties who helped out; Darryl’s friends were a force to reckon with too, and I am slightly curious if they do provide professional “yum-seng” service. One interesting thing about the wedding – Darryl called me 2 days before the wedding at 430am to convey a burning idea. Alas I was totally oblivious to the call cos I was deep in slumberland. I found out later that he would like the band to perform a song for him to serenade his bride. Of course I was more than happy to say yes to that.

On the actual day, we were all told that Darryl had never sung in public before, and that it would be his first, and probably his last. During rehearsal, Darryl was slightly nervous, but the actual delivery was anything but of nerves. In fact he took on the song very well, even shouted out “后面的朋友,谢谢!”,”大家一起来!”  etc to the guests cum fans, especially to those who were cheering and waving candle-lights in mid-air. Halfway through the song, Jazel, who has a wonderful voice, joined him at the stage and sing the song together with him.

With such good response, I doubt that this performance would be Darryl’s last. 🙂

Darryl and Jazel (what a rhyme!), Congratulations once again! Here’s wishing you many blissful years of joy, happiness, and great singing!
