Hsin Yeow’s Thoughts: For The First Time
Wendnia and Desmond first met in NTU. They chatted occasionally, bumped into each other during inter-hall games, but nothing serious came out of it. But the seed was sown, and fate showed her hand a few years later.
Their paths crossed again at the bus-stop near Wendnia’s place. Desmond had started working at that area, and they established contact again. Desmond would later joke that they met on a bus!
That’s why I dedicated “For The First Time” to the couple before I sang it. After all, the lyrics say it perfectly

I’ve been lookin’ at you forever
But I never saw you before

Now I wonder how I could of been so blind

An interesting tidbit: Desmond’s birthday’s on the 8th of November, and Wendnia’s on the 10th. They discussed the possibility of getting married on 9 Nov, so that they would have a 3-day celebration. Although it didn’t happen due to fengshui reasons, I persuaded Desmond to sing a birthday song to Wendnia to celebrate her birthday. She was completely caught by surprise, especially when everyone else in the ballroom joined in!
Hui Bing, Matthew, Yi Li and I had a wonderful time at the wedding. It was my first performance with Yi Li, and I was impressed by his virtuosity with the instrument. The combination of piano and violin worked very well with the song list that night, and we received many compliments.
Thank you, Desmond and Wendnia, for having us at your wedding. Congratulations on starting a new journey as husband and wife, and may the path ahead be full of laughter and happiness!
