Bevlyn’s Thoughts: I’m Yours
Greg’s cousins counted among the cheekiest lot on his wedding day. How do I know? By 1 simple song request – “To all the girls I’ve loved before”:
I didn’t know how to sing the song, unfortunately, or fortunately so, because that made one of the cousins pluck up the courage to sing this song and dedicate it to Greg. He did not even need a rehearsal, he just stepped up to the microphone, listened to the music intro, and, SANG! Greg was and the guests were amused by the title of the song, but I’m sure Greg appreciated the gesture!
Greg and Erin also requested that I sing a few Hokkien songs, of which a couple were new to me – <<阿嬤的话>> (Grandma’s Words) and <<落雨声>> (Sound of the Rain), which sing praise of one’s grandmother and mother respectively.
It was also flattering to receive song requests from the guests – “Somewhere over the rainbow”, “月亮代表我的心“, “Everything I do (I do it for you)”, etc, which we happily delivered.
Congratulations to Erin and Greg, here’s wishing you sweet marital bliss for the many years to come!
