Juliet’s thoughts: Two Sleepy People
First of all, ZQ and I would agree the sound at Fullerton Straits Ballroom with its natural acoustics were pretty impressive. 🙂
The night started off with an unusually attentive crowd, much to our pleasant surprise, as we felt they were really listening to our music. We’re definitely very appreciative as they clapped from song to song. When we decided to hit the slow swing ballad, Two Sleepy People, the groom actually stood up to cheer. It must have been a song he particularly like, and we were happy to deliver it.
Dancing In The Moonlight was originally a solo number for Zhengquan and I really do think he snazzed it up nicely even during the rehearsal. However on an impulse he decided to hype it up with a female vocal in the chorus, and we had fun groovin’ on that lil number, with Linus just knockin’ our socks off with all that funk.
The highlight for the night for me, was when the groom surprised me halfway through 甜蜜蜜 (Honey Sweet) by offering to join me on duet! We were thrilled, and he was such a sport for singing through the entire ballad in a female’s key to his lady beaming and clapping with joy. We were very glad to have performed for the lovely couple.
