Imelda’s thoughts: 小手拉大手 (Small Hands Hold Big Hands)
Some couples have what some call “夫妻相”, which means they look a lot like each other.
Zhi Ting and Guoliang were alike in terms of personality. Zhi Ting’s sweet and pleasant demeanour was evident from the way we chatted about the wedding details over the phone.
Guoliang was also very friendly and personable. He made sure we were well fed when we arrived for the sound check by handing us our dinner personally. Before the wedding dinner started, he also spent all his time entertaining guests and ushering them to their seats personally. These are little touches which spoke volumes about how much he appreciated his guests for being there to celebrate his wedding.
One of the highlights of the wedding was a rather funny sequence in the video of the morning events, when Guoliang went to fetch Zhiting. He was made to sign a marriage “contract” with clauses that all wives would agree with. He seemed unperturbed by the demanding terms and signed the contract with a flourish!
Spencer, Ivan and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously at the wedding. Spencer and I had built up a lot of chemistry back in the days when I was performing regularly at One Degree Fifteen. Ever versatile, Ivan fitted in like a glove. I was touched when one of the couple’s relatives came up to tell me and said she really enjoyed the songs. The pleasure’s all mine!
