Ji Xiang’s thoughts: 遇上爱 (Encountering Love)
The first thing that caught my interest when I first stepped into Venus ballroom was the sheer number of tables for the wedding celebrations. Kuan Han and Zilin are indeed blessed to have the company of many friends and relatives who came to witness their pledge of love to each other. The guests’ support and love for the couple were evident and well encapsulated in their energetic and enthusiastic run during the Yum Seng toast!
As for the band, this was my first time working with Hui Ming. She is a bubbly lady who can really sing! Together with Jerome, our partnership worked immaculately from the onset and hit the right chord with the audience. The guests were beguiled by the many renditions of the wide genre of repertoire which we presented. There were standards like “When I Fall In Love”, English contemporaries “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You”, Chinese oldies “月亮代表我的心” (The Moon Represents My Heart), Hokkien classics “家后” (Queen Of The House), Cantonese-pop “追” (Chase) and not forgetting the Chinese favourites like “遇上爱” (Encountering Love). Talk about versatility.
Jerome, Hui Ming and I had a great time performing the songs the couple had chosen. Thank you Kuan Han and Zilin for inviting us to be part of their wedding celebrations and thank you to the guests for their continuous applause and the many dedications. My thanks must also go out to Marcus who provided us with the brilliant sound!
