Bevlyn’s thoughts: Wonderful Tonight
I love emcees who share the love story of the wedding couple with the guests; it’s not easy to find a perfect wedding emcee, and very so often, the best one is someone who grew up with either the bride or the groom. For this wedding, the emcee is a childhood friend of, both! The three of them got to know each other since secondary one which is, 17 years ago, well, you do the maths. For someone who does not know the couple well, it was a little emotional to see both of them in the early years in class photos, of course not having the slightest clue that they were meant to tie the know some 17 years down the road. Interestingly, they were both saxophonists in the band!
After graduation, they lost touch for 5 years. Fatefully, an Anthony Robins’ seminar made them cross path again, and after some fire-walking, mushroom eating, and a lot of beers, they came together, and 9 years on, they finally tied the knot!
Selvan hooked up with us to surprise Grace with a song ‘Wonderful Tonight’. And surprised Grace surely was. While singing, Selvan held Grace tightly around her waist; indeed it was a moment so private and yet, so marvelled by everyone present.
I had a lot of fun at this wedding with Jixiang on guitar, and Yi Li joining us for the very first time with his violin. They both worked magic for the song “She” for the 1st march-in, and we jammed equally fine for the current pop “Hey Soul Sister”. It’s a really fun song:
Selvan has indeed found his soulmate, or soul sister whichever way you call it. Congratulations to Selvan and Grace, we wish you many many more 17 years ahead as you embark on this new journey as husband and wife!
