Bevlyn’s Thoughts: All The Way
The layout of this wedding gave me a pleasant surprise! Instead of having the VIP table right in front of the ballroom…it was on the stage. Check out the funky wedding cake too:

I particularly enjoyed the speeches by 2 special friends of the couple. Wenshan, who is a friend of Kok Keong for 15 years, shared with us his memories of meeting Kok Keong for the first time in school – Kok Keong had generously lent his homework to let Wenshan copy; Wenshan regretted much later when he got it back from the teacher – the answers were mostly wrong!
The maid of honour Ally, best friend with Charmaine since age 14, shared with us how much Kok Keong loves Charmaine. One evening when 3 of them were starving and rushing out for dinner, Charmaine realised she had forgotten to bring her mobile phone charger and needed to run upstairs for a quick grab. Ally was mad cos of the hunger, yet Kok Keong reminded Charmaine, “Don’t run, if you fall down and get hurt, how?” From then on, Ally was convinced that Kok Keong is indeed capable of taking care of Charmaine for the rest of her life 🙂
One interesting note was, one emcee was speaking in English, and the other in Cantonese. Wooo!
Isn’t this dedication segment sweet?
The band was happily performing the jazz pieces chosen by the couple when we received some song requests, which we were more than delighted to take on – ‘How deep is your love’, and ‘Stand by me’. My favorite however, was “All The Way”. Here’s the reason:
When somebody loves you
It’s no good unless he loves you all the way
Happy to be near you
When you need someone to cheer you all the way
Taller than the tallest tree is
That’s how it’s got to feel
Deeper than the deep blue sea is
That’s how deep it goes if it’s real
When somebody needs you
It’s no good unless he needs you all the way
Through the good or lean years
And for all the in-between years come what may
Who knows where the road will lead us
Only a fool would say
But if you’ll let me love you
It’s for sure I’m gonna love you all the way all the way
Our Congratulations to Kok Keong and Charmaine, may your marriage be filled with tender loving care for each other all the way!

Compliments from Kok Keong:
Thank you Bevlyn, Linhui and Ian for being part of our beautiful wedding!
All the guests were full of compliments for you guys! Everyone was asking me who was my wedding band.
I almost didn’t wanna reveal so that they won’t have such a nice band as I did *evil* but good things are meant to be shared so don’t be surprised to hear knockings on your door and do remember who we are when they say that they are recommended by us.
It was a pity Charmaine and I didn’t really get to hear you all as much as we would have liked to because we were so busy being hustled around hahaha I personally really enjoyed the march-in song, Angels Brought Me Here.
Hope to see (or should I say hear?) you all again in any of the future wedding dinners which I may be attending!
