Serene’s thoughts: Love Story
I have sung at many weddings, but to a receive sincere, heartwarming powerpoint presentation put together by the couple, addressed to the band to introduce themselves is a first.
How sweet is that?
From the presentation, we got a glimpse of who Martin and Shandy were, and how their love story evolved. This couple first met in 2000 and started going out in 2001. in between, Martin left for studies for two years, and he proposed to Shandy when he returned in 2008 and they registered their marriage. Fast forward to 2010, the couple is holding their wedding banquet at the Hilton Hotel Singapore.
From their story, from their matching Star-shaped keychains bearing each other’s surnames at the start of their relationship, to Martin’s little surprises for Shandy such as gifting her with the first edition of hardcover John Grisham’s books, or Shandy baking chocolate chip cookies for Martin just because he loves eating them…
I’ve also learnt that love means:
– Being the joy, and the strength in each other’s lives
– He / she is not someone you can live with, but is someone you can’t live without.
– Being able to make your other half smile, without needing to do much, and simply by loving him/her with all your heart and being yourself
The best ways to say “I love you” are not measured by what everyone else does or gives, but rather in ways that only mean everything to the two of you.

Apologies for the late reply.. Have been busy settling after wedding stuff 🙂
Would like to thank the band for their great performance that night! We were hesistant over whether to fork out more money for another wedding expense, but now we felt that its worth it.
Our favourite songs were played and the ambience created from the band’s performance was excellent. Thanks for sharing our special day with us, and keep up the good work! 🙂
