Serene’s thoughts: I’ll Never Find Another You
Anson and Jean’s love story spanned over a decade, one that was described beautifully during the speeches of three of their close friends at the wedding reception. I recall how each of these three friends mentioned candidly that at first impression, Anson and Jean came across as an “Ah Beng and Ah Lian” couple and how they all had doubts if the relationship would last. Fun teases and funny moments aside, all three speeches went on further to reveal Anson and Jean to be the nicest of people, extremely loved and doted upon by friends, and this wedding was one that was long awaited by many.
Indeed, just viewing the couple’s photo montage, where both Anson and Jean sported extremely trendy hair colours and hairstyles, travelling to countless destinations, literally “over mountains and under the seas” as shown in their hiking and diving pictures, progressing over the years from where they met to a mature and beautiful couple standing right before you, it is during such moments you are reminded again how with love, two people grow together, and how true love withstands the test of time.
For the 2nd March-in, Jean looked svelte and stunning in a figure hugging black gown with red flower details. What Jean wasn’t aware of was that Anson had a surprise planned for her. During the couple’s thank you speech, Anson mentioned how, over many occasions, Jean had requested for him to sing for her, and which he had repeatedly avoided, joking that he was afraid the wedding would never happen if he ever sang for her. Given that they are finally married, Anson announced he will be serenading his wife with the song I’ll Never Find Another You, with Edward accompanying him on keys. I recall Anson being so nervous about making this surprise work during a quick rehearsal he managed to squeeze in with the band.. asking the us for pointers and we told him he didn’t require any because this surprise was the best present he would be giving to Jean! Dazzled his wife he sure did and he was rewarded with a kiss from Jean on stage and guests were shouting “encore” from all ends of the ballroom!
The band enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, thanks to the great reception of the songs and applause we received from the guests. Last but definitely not least, our heartiest congratulations to Anson and Jean! Thank you for engaging A Little Dream to be a part of this beautiful wedding that celebrates a love story you both share that truly inspires many.
