Hui Bing’s thoughts: That’s When I Love You
It’s another lively and beautiful wedding on this magical and auspicious date – 080808.
To start the wedding on a grand note, Oliver and Patricia had their parents enter the ballroom with them during the first march-in. Though this is the not first time I had seen such an entrance, I thought it is really a good idea to involve the parents in the wedding programme, apart from the toasting ceremony.
And to enliven the ambience, Oliver and Patricia had a professional emcee, Andy, from the radio station FM 95.8 to be the emcee for their wedding. Having hosted many of Patricia’s company’s events, Andy was a familiar face among some of the guests and he put everyone in a cheerful mood through his jokes and warm candor.
Andy had a small task for the couple. Oliver or Patricia had to sing a verse of one song to each another. Oliver, after pausing for a long while, seemingly trying to find the best lyrics, sang with conviction and love while looking at Patricia, “I’ll be forever yours, faithfully”. What a great line! It was greeted with thunderous applause and hoots from the guests.
Our wedding band had a talented guest singing with us that night – Sharolyn, who nearly made it to the TV episodes of Singapore Idol Season 1. She was really good! She belted out three songs including the difficult number ‘The Power of Love’ with confidence and ease.

If I Ain’t Got You, Valentine, The Power of Love
Dedication:
月亮代表我的心 (The Moon Represents My Heart) – The only Chinese song during the night, it was dedicated by one of the couple’s relatives.
Song to Recommend:
Everything In Its Time – Another great song from Corrinne May, I really love its lyrics about taking things in its course and appreciating the little things in life.
That’s When I Love You (Ashlyn) – Patricia requested for this song to be included in the list 3 days before the dinner! But it is such a nice song and we readily agreed to learn it for the wedding.
