Hsin Yeow’s thoughts: 爱很简单 (Love Is Very Simple)

There is a saying which goes, “近水楼台先得月,向阳花木易为春” (The pavilion closest to the water gets the moonlight, the flowers facing the sun bloom easily.)

For Daniel and Su Lin, love blossomed when they stayed at the same college/hostel, John’s XXIII College at the Australian National University in Canberra. When Daniel graduated, he moved back to Singapore while Su Lin remained in Sydney to study and work.

What sealed it for them was the fact that they managed a long-distance relationship from 2003 to 2007 till Su Lin eventually moved to Singapore in 2008. Some say love is simple, but I personally feel it is hard work to maintain a relationship, especially a long-distance one. What a feat!

Judy and Matthew enjoyed themselves very much while performing at the wedding. The audience was very warm, and they loved the song choices, especially the Mandarin numbers.

Judy remembered there was a birthday boy in the audience. He came up to the band, and she sang him a birthday song. Another highlight was a special performance from none other than the groom himself. Daniel sang 爱很简单 (Love Is Very Simple) (a very appropriate song, now that they are no longer living in different continents!) to rousing applause.

Congratulations, Su Lin and Daniel!
