Bevlyn’s thoughts: Overjoyed
Here’s what Nick said to Joyce during the welcome speech to the guests:
“Nicholas and Geraldine have always loved music since young, especially Geraldine who has always been very passionate about singing. You know Joyce, I can always remember Geraldine singing her special rendition of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” everytime when we were kids. And no festivities will be complete without music. Hence, our couple has arranged for a band known as “A Little Dream” to enhance tonight’s celebrations with some songs they specially selected for your listening pleasure. They sincerely hope that all of you will enjoy yourselves, and do sing along if you know the words. ”
And sing along the guests sure did. We were also thrilled to receive a few song requests like “Love Is A Many Splendored Thing”, “Stardust” but due to time constraint, we were only able to squeeze in one “Fly Me To The Moon”, which went out to one of the guests, Michael.
Geraldine had shared with me earlier that the date of the banquet was also her birthday. She had taken a liking to our pianist James’ playing, and requested that he play at her wedding. Incidentally, James shares the same birthday as her!
What I love most about the speech was when Nicholas said, “Geraldine told me this morning, after one year’s of planning and it’s gone today. I’d like to tell her that actually today’s the beginning…” Well said. 🙂
One other surprise for both the couple, and the band, was a performance by a very talented young boy, Zacherine, nephew of Geraldine, who played “老鼠爱大米” as a gift for the wedding couple. Without any scores, he was able to play with good ‘feel’, and what James commented as a good ‘touch’. We can see that the musical genes run in Geraldine’s family!
