Hsin Yeow’s thoughts: Beautiful Sunday
It was a really enjoyable night for me.
First of all, Kay and Karen were a very friendly couple. They kept checking with us if we were all right, despite having a million other things to take care of.
The crowd was also very appreciative, and they kept giving us song requests. It’s not often that we get people singing along with us without our asking. But that’s what happened. When I was singing “Beautiful Sunday”, I heard an enthusiastic echo of the catchy chorus, “Hi, hi, hi beautiful Sunday!” Similarly, Hui Ming’s rendition of 我要你的爱 (I Need Your Love) also got some help from the audience, who became her backup singers!
One of the highlights of the evening was the spontaneous performance of a guest who requested an oldie. We chose “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, and he sang it with much poise and confidence. His sonorous performance received much applause.
Congratulations Kay and Karen! Thank you for having us at your wedding, and may you both enjoy a loving marriage!

Finally, I get to sit down to pen this to you. It’s been a whirlwind of activities!
Firstly, am very sorry that both Kay and I were so busy that night that we didn’t really have much time for you. But trust me, as I sat down after my first march-in, and heard the first song from the band, I was sold. In fact, it made me very happy and soothed whatever frayed nerves I had there and then. 在我生命中的每一天 is an oldie but how very touching. I really like the way how you and Hui Ming gave the song a very lively and groovy edge.
We had little chance to enjoy the music thereafter, but many of our guests expressed that they thoroughly enjoyed your performance. We had a varied guest list that spanned from all walks of life and for them to say they enjoyed themselves, is a big testament.
As I went from table to table for toasting, I heard and caught sight of the flute, and honestly, I was very appreciative. Not sure if I got this right but I was quite sure that ALD went beyond what was just stated in the contract and took the initiative to bring the flute along, together with the saxophone. It certainly brought a smile to me. At that moment, not only was I sold on your musical performance, but also your professionalism and effort to make the night the best one for Kay and I. I personally enjoyed the songs and music so much that my friends were laughing at me as I was bobbing away to the music as I moved from table to table =) Thank you so much.
Also, there were little pockets of chances when I caught Hui Ming’s eyes and both of us just nodded and smiled.
It’s been a wonderful experience and we wished we had more time to properly sit down to enjoy your performance. Bearing that in mind, you can be sure when the next opportunity arises, you’ll be the first one we will think of. Thank you for being with us, on our special day.
