Bevlyn’s thoughts: 有你真好 (It’s So Nice To Have You)

Truth be told, I thought I had never met Wey Jia and George before. So when I walked into the ballroom to see a group of people setting up for the photo montage, I thought they were most probably the ‘sisters and brothers’. I even talked to one of them, only to find out later at the reception (after he dressed up in a very smart suit) that he was actually George the groom!

He had gotta be the most relaxed groom I have met, because he was donning a casual yellow T-shirt and a pair of bermudas, camouflaged among his group of friends when I first talked to him. (George, I’m sorry I couldn’t recognise you but all the faces were a blur to me that day at NUS!)

And the wedding turned out to be exactly like what George had told me during the cocktail – very relaxed and cosy. The guests were very supportive of the music from our band, and gave us appreciative applause almost after every song.

I also got to meet one of the sisters Vanessa, whose wedding Hsin Yeow sang for some time back. And to my surprise, the photographer for the evening was John Lim, whose wedding I was supposed to sing in a week’s time! It was hence more like a gathering for me, because everyone (even the captain and waiters at Orchard Parade Hotel) made the band feel so welcome .

So to echo and quote what George had said during his speech, “Thank you sisters, you did a ‘terrific job’….but the brothers did better!”, I would say “Thank you everyone, it was a splendid wedding because everyone did a terrific job!”

All the best to you George and Wey Jia, who knows, we may meet at another ‘gathering’ real soon? Congratulations once again!

John taking a peek shot of our band having dinner at this restaurant before the performance. Wey Jia and George were so generous to arrange for that. Of course we were very happy; and happy musicians make happy music 🙂

Band: Bevlyn, Ein Ein, Ji Xiang

Repertoire:

When You Know (1st March In), Dream A Little Dream, Bubbly, La Vie En Rose, L-O-V-E, 世界唯一的你 (The Only You In This World), First Of May, That’s When I Love You, Close To You, 有你真好 (It’s So Nice To Have You), On The Side Of Me

Everything (2nd March In), Let’s Start From Here, Quando Quando Quando, Everything In Its Time, 黑白配 (Black And White Match), 当我八十岁 (When I’m 80), Crazy Little Thing Called Love, My Cherie Amour, So Nice, All Over Again, 爱很简单 (Love Is Very Simple)

Songs To Recommend:

有你真好 (It’s So Nice To Have You) – a very suitable song to be dedicated to friends or, your spouse!

Everything In Its Time – This song is not very common in weddings, but it gives a good mix to the rest of the repertoire. It doesn’t take much guess to decide who chose this song for the repertoire because Vanessa said during her speech that Wey Jia has a ‘famous’ saying “Whoever will marry, will marry”.

Compliments from Couple:

Hi Bev,

We would like to thank you guys for the awesome music and I really love to hear you sing.

Thanks for adding the magical touch to our special evening 🙂
