Judy’s thoughts: Sweet Happy Life
When I first saw Handoko and Yah Yin, I thought, “Wow, these two look like a couple from some really cute Japanese cartoon series.” Yah Yin has these cute sparkly eyes and looked beautiful in her wedding gown. Handoko was charming in his suit and had smile was so wide you just know he must be over the moon and extremely excited about his big night. He was being a great host, making sure that his guests were all seated and well attended to, right up to the minute for his first march-in.
The ballroom was filled with guests and chatter, and Clarence and I had fun entertaining the crowd with the couple’s choices of songs, which had a good mix of jazz, pop, rock and even a hit from the musical Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. We found out that one of the guests (Yah Yin’s cousin) was actually our new colleague (Sofyan) from A little Dream! Naturally, we got him to sing a couple of songs and that spiced up the night. I was particularly tickled by the fact that the coupe had met each other first on the MRT! What a love story… one of those you’d find in the movies 🙂
But what made the night truly memorable for everyone was the performance by Handoko’s mum. She performed Sandy Lam’s 至少还有你 (At Least There Is You) on stage, with her son and her daughter-in-law by her side, singing along with her. The scene of them standing alongside one another and sharing their love really touched me. I wish Handoko and Yah Yin all the love and bliss in their marriage, and a Sweet Happy Life 🙂
