Bevlyn’s thoughts: 细水长流 (The Meandering River Flows On)
When I arrived at 6pm, I was surprised to see the whole entourage setting up at the reception and the restaurant. One of the friends told us, “Lance is very punctual, so we’re very punctual too”. Indeed, the banquet kicked off well before the standard 830pm.
We thought it would be nice to start our performance delivering the dedications from Lance and Suzhen to their parents. Here’s their heart-felt and impressive dedication:
The second song the band performed was “细水长流” (The Meandering River Flows On), a song that I enjoyed singing very much! Check out this Singapore folk song (I’m surprised they have an MV for this):
And here’s the dedication to the brothers and sisters:”
The couple would like to dedicate the next song to their brothers and sisters who have put in a lot of time and effort in preparing for this wedding. With this song, Lance and Suzhen hope that their friendship with the brothers and sisters, will remain strong in the days to come.”
It was also very gratifying for the band to see Lance and Suzhen turn their heads to give the band approving smiles, and see some guests singing with us throughout the dinner. I think the 2 songs we really enjoyed that evening were “Same side of the moon” (Corrinne May), and 只因为你 (张栋梁) Because Of You).
From This Moment (1st March-in), 月亮代表我的心 (The Moon Represents My Heart), 细水长流 (The Meandering River Flows On), Love is All Around, Same Side of the Moon, 恋爱频率 (Love Frequency), Love Me, Wind Beneath My Wings, At the Beginning, 甜蜜蜜 (Sweetness), 只因为你 (Because of You), 另一个天堂 (The Other Heaven)
Perfect Moment (2nd March-in), 你是我最深爱的人 (You’re the One I Love the Most), If We Hold On Together, 一人一半 (Half for You and Half for Me), 出嫁 (Getting Married), 当我八十岁 (When I’m 80), The Gift, 小夫妻 (The Lovely Couple)
It been a pleasure having you guys on our big day. We are impressed with your beautiful live singing and wished that we would one day be seated in the crowd to enjoy your performance, instead of having to rush for the march-ins, thank you speech, and yamsengs! Good job!
