Hsin Yeow’s thoughts: What A Wonderful World
Charles’ best man and host for the evening began his toast by saying, “What a wonderful world this is, where a man from California can meet the girl of his dreams in a little island in Southeast Asia. And for Jaime, that girl living on that tiny island, to meet and fall in love with the man of her dreams who was born in a place half a world away.”
He went on to say that if one were to spend even five minutes with Jaime and Charlie, one would know that the two were “made for each other”.
I couldn’t agree more. Jaime and Charlie came to listen to us on two separate occasions before deciding to engage us, and from my brief interaction with them, I could already tell that both were very much in love with each other.
Indeed, what a wonderful world this is.
Bevlyn’s thoughts: It Had To Be You
It had to be you
I wandered around and finally found
Somebody who could make me be true
Yes, and so the story goes, two different persons from opposite ends of the world found and fell in love with each other. It was my first relatively long encounter with the couple, and yes, I could feel the love they have not only for each other, but also for the band! I felt so flattered when Charles and Jaime locked looks with us frequently, and anticipated and clapped after each song! I have no idea how, but they managed to do it amidst their busy schedule of photo-taking, talking with friends etc.
A highlight of the night was when Charles and Jaime marched-in to the song Close To You and danced their first dance as a married couple. I could literally hear some of the guests gasping to the idea! We tried to sing the whole song to prolong the dance (like what we did for Jeremy and Joyce), but was cut short by the emcee/best man who invited the couple up the stage for the yum-seng ceremony. It was also a rather amusing affair when the best man (who is also an American), did a brief explanation of how yum-seng should be done. The guests, consisting of a mix of locals and Americans, did not disappoint!

Compliments to Charlie and Jamie: Thanks For a Wonderful Night!
Dear Hsin Yeow, Bevlyn and the 2 Jonathans
We’d like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for a wonderful night of memories at our wedding dinner at Raffles Hotel. You guys did a great job! We certainly enjoyed every minute of it, and wish we could have been able to sit down more and really savour every song.
Our guests definitely were impressed, and some wanted to find out where you normally perform so they could go and listen to you again! We appreciate all your hard work and advice in helping us choose the songs. We’re so thankful that we were able to have you perform at our wedding dinner!
Thanks again for everything!
Cheers,
Charlie & Jaime
