Hui Bing’s thoughts: Sway

Samuel and Lynette, who were both working as doctors in the UK, have been out of Singapore for over 11 years. Hence, most of the guests to the wedding were invited by their parents from Singapore and Malaysia.

Dr Lim, the fatherly gentleman who engaged us for the wedding, wanted a mix of oldies, such as Teresa Teng’s classics which will appeal to the older folks. I enjoyed singing these songs with a fuller line-up that night – Jixiang on guitars, Matthew on keyboard and Wah Yong on bass. Though it was the first time that these three guys have worked together, I thought that the music that they produced sounded really amazing.

Also performing that night were two very talented guests – Rosita, a soprano who could hit the highest of notes and Christopher, a keyboardist who jazzed up his solo segment with his music arrangements.

The evening ended on a heartwarming note during the champagne toasting session, when the many shouts of cheers around the ballroom finally coalesced into long and loud cheers of ‘yam seng’.

Our warmest congratulations to Lynette and Samuel!
