Bevlyn’s Thoughts: Fly Me To The Moon

Jaslyn and Andy approached A Little Dream more than 1 and a half year ago. Indeed, their early attention to our live band was flattering because it reflected that having live music was one of their priorities.

One advantage about preparing for a wedding early is that you may have more time to brainstorm for ideas, and to execute the ideas. The couple had an astounding 4 changes of outfits, 4 video presentations, and Jaslyn had 3 hairstyles!

The 1st video presentation showed the breath-taking pre-wedding photos that Andy and Jaslyn took in Paris…

The 2nd video presentation featured clips of the couple and their close friends on a yacht.; the close friends shared how they feel about the couple, and also expressed their well-wishes. To show their appreciation to the bridal entourage team and people who have helped with their wedding prep, the couple made a “special credits video montage”, which also thanked the special individuals with their faces captured on the yacht.

The 3rd video let out interesting highlights of the customary wedding, and the last presentation, shown right after the couple’s heartfelt speech, was an MTV of an original song commissioned by the couple as a tribute to their parents. The song was very touching, and I’m sure it made the family members teary-eyed especially since they were hearing the song while watching some memory-laced family photos!

The Shangri-La’s Island ballroom counts as one of the biggest in Singapore (think Fann Wong), and with a packed programme, time was of the essence. I was happy that Jaslyn agreed to my idea to have the live band perform at 8pm to hopefully ‘draw’ the guests into the ballroom and be seated earlier. It probably worked, because we started the 1st video presentation at 830pm, and the 1st march-in at 835pm, totally on time.

Andy and Jaslyn also took the efforts to dedicate a song “That’s what friends are for” to their wedding entourage and to all the people who helped made the wedding possible….

It was really a wedding of extravagance:

– the wedding theme was tiffany blue, and hence all the bridesmaids’ tailored dresses and the groomsmen’s ties were all in tiffany blue.
– the professional team from Live!studio was also roped in; wireless livefeed of photographs were projected almost instantaneous onto big screens, and guests got to take home photo-cards of themselves as mementos after the banquet.
–  right after the last toast of yum-seng, dazzling and shimmering gold & silver confettis rained the entire stage to a magnificent climax!

Chiou Yun, Boon Chye and I had a good time performing. Thank you Andy and Jaslyn for inviting us to perform at your wedding, it was really a bang! We wish you a blissful marriage filled with joy and happiness! Congratulations!

Compliments from Jaslyn:

Dear Bevlyn,
Thank you for being part of our celebrations. 🙂
Though we didnt really have time to talk to you more, we could hear your singing at the VIP Holding Room (Besides Island Ballroom) whenever I am doing my 4 changes of gowns and hairstyles! Fabulous vocal!
Our guests also had very favourable reviews of the band’s performance that night based on their various comments and feedbacks to us.

Andy and I sincerely thank you and your team for their wonderful musical performance at our wedding reception as it made the night lively and enjoyable.

Thank you once again for helping to make our wedding night memorable!

Cheers,
Jas
