Hsin Yeow’s thoughts: So Amazing
Cheryl and Gabriel clearly believe in not holding back when it comes to wedding planning.
Theirs was one of the most memorable weddings I’ve attended this year. And here are some reasons why.
Project Runway was the theme, and the couple selected the talented team from Boenga to translate their ideas from mere scribblings on a page to gorgeous reality.
Mannequins wearing the some gorgeous threads (from Boenga!) were placed right in the centre of the cocktail area. The ballroom stage was transformed three huge structures; the two at the side looked like photo-frames, while the centre frame seemed like a gigantic TV screen with a constantly flickering backdrop. The stage extended right into the middle of the ballroom, so that guests at both sides of the catwalk could feel as if they were guests at a fashion show.

He just returned from a trip to Kenya photographing wildlife, and I was so pleased to meet him again.
Thanks, William, for your fabulous photos!
To loud cheers from the audience, the bridesmaids and groomsmen appeared from behind the flickering screen, and took their turns parading up and down the catwalk in their finest.
Cheryl (wearing a gorgeous gown from Ted Wu) and Gabriel also greeted their guests on the catwalk (what a refreshing change from the usual march-in!) to enthusiastic applause. Gabriel addressed the crowd directly and invited them to enjoy the evening.

That’s where we came in. Judy, Jonathan Ang, Jonathan Lim and I had a grand time performing for the guests, who showed their appreciation with much applause throughout the evening.
A few guests also responded to my call for dedications. One little boy bravely walked up to us and asked for Love, Me. No problem; I whipped out the lyrics and sang it on the spot.
Another dedication was a bit tougher. The touching message came from a group of ladies who wanted Daughters by John Mayer. It was dedicated to Cheryl’s dad, from a group of ladies who praised him for being the “best daddy”. I sang Butterfly Kisses instead; it’s a beautiful song about a father watching his daughter grow up and get married. Thankfully, the ladies enjoyed the song!
Cheryl and Gabriel had more surprises up their sleeve. To raucous applause, they walked up and down the catwalk with their parents, giving them their time in the limelight.
The couple also danced, and Gabriel’s humble remark at the end of it — “Now you can see why we are not dancers!” — drew much laughter and cheers.

Congratulations Cheryl and Gabriel! Thank you for inviting us to be a part of your wedding. It was an unforgettable experience!

Dearest Hsin Yeow, Judy, Jonathan Ang & Jonathan Lim,
Thank you so much for being part of our wedding celebration and making it even more special and lively!
Many of our friends and relatives complimented the vocals and music from your band and they certainly enjoyed all the songs. Thank you once again! =)
Just a note though: Yes, we have engaged Ted Wu to design all our gowns, dresses, suits and even to draw sketches of them. However, the mannequins and props at the cocktail foyer were all selected and done up by the talented Boenga! Hehe! =)
Cheers, Cheryl & Gabriel
Edit: have amended the blog. Thanks for letting me know!
Songs To Recommend:
So many songs that night required us to plumb the depths and reach the edge of our vocal ranges; Judy and I are probably the only singers in our band insane enough to tackle songs from vocal powerhouses Brian McKnight, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion!
Here are some of the songs that we grew to enjoy:
When You Love Someone
I Believe In You And Me
Have You Ever Been In Love
So Blessed
Whenever You Call
I Am Your Angel
So Amazing
