Serene’s thoughts: Lovely
The march-in at any wedding is sacred…so much so it draws silence from the guests as they wait in anticipation to steal a glance of the couple.. so much so that at times in the almost pitch dark ballroom with just one spotlight falling on the beautiful couple as they walk down the isle, it could move some to tears, draw smiles and applause from the room, and make you feel like you want to fall in love all over again…
This was the magic at Eve and Hwoon’s wedding. As the band played the first few lines of the verse, I lay my eyes on the couple making their entrance into the ballroom, and was overcome by a whelm of emotions just watching them. A sense of joy and understanding every single word of the song…how it describes so beautifully in the two people that you see before you, that somewhere in this universe, love is so powerful it makes two people cross paths and fall in love, until it takes you to that one day in your life you know you have found the person you cannot live without.
You’re the field in the middle of the city.
When I’m rushing by at the speed of light.
You’re the church bells ringing in the evening.
When all is quiet, Your whisper comfort, lifts my heart. I get so weak.
Eve and Hwoon came across as one of the most composed couples I’ve met. Both looked dashing that evening, Hwoon looking extremely smart in his suit and Eve in a rose pink evening gown, in perfect contrast to her jet black hair, and both looking extremely elegant amidst the lush and grandeur in the Island Ballroom at the Shangri-La.
The couple’s speech was extremely enjoyable. There weren’t countless rehearsals prior to the wedding, no lavish speeches, just a true celebration of love and a new chapter in their lives. Sincere heartfelt thanks were extended to their families, friends and to each other. You could tell that family ties were pivotal to both of them as they thanked their parents for their wonderful upbringing, and sited their parents as role models they look up to when being parents to their own children in future.
Where Hwoon trailed off in his sentences, Eve would complete them, they lovingly teased each other at times, and spoke excitedly when they mentioned a glimpse of their future… Eve and Hwoon demonstrated that love is more than two people coming together.. rather, it’s when one completes the other.
The couple then wrapped up their speech with the song <<一人一半>> (One Half). Despite not getting a chance to rehearse this item with the band prior to the banquet, mind did they perform!!
Thank you Eve and Hwoon for the lovely evening. Our warmest wishes to the both of you, and it was extremely enjoyable to be able to be a part of your special day.
