Matthew’s thoughts: Can’t Take My Eyes Off You

It’s hard to go wrong with a combination of 2 highly-seasoned performers from the local Mandarin-pop scene; I had the pleasure to work with Zheng Quan, an established vocal coach based north in JB, and the ever-effervescent Tian Yao, multi-talented singer-cum-guitarist-cum-harmonica-ist (yes, he will do all 3 at the same time if the price is right!)

Quoting my dear Commanding Officer’s speech at my Battalion Day last week (3 cheers for reservist!), we are living in a time of economic uncertainty (a view shared by most, unless you’re convinced it’s only going to get worse) and personally I am glad that couples still make the effort to factor in the dinner entertainment into their budget.

What is a pay cheque to me could be the icing on the cake for an evening of magic for the couple, and I’m more than glad to be involved in it. I’m sure Jason enjoyed our performance, because I certainly did, especially the Mandarin numbers with Tian Yao’s harmonica solos! Too bad I couldn’t pull Jason in to join us for a song.

Congratulations again to Jason and Charmaine!

P.S. Special thanks to Tracy and Gavin, who recommended us for the wedding. Appreciate it!
