Hsin Yeow’s thoughts: Someone To Love

Who wears the pants in this relationship? Seeing that both of them work in the Army, I’m sure Tiong Keat and Han Han can be assertive when they need to. The entertaining photo-montage we saw at the start of the banquet had this unique analogy: Tiong Keat prefers the Times Roman (font) while Han Han think Arial is better. Anyone who can shed some light into what this means in terms of their personalities, call me.

Whatever the case, it was obvious to everyone in the ballroom that Tiong Keat was madly in love with Han Han, whom he repeatedly called, “An amazing woman!” It was a far cry from the beginning of the relationship, when Tiong Keat thought she was “anti-social”, while Han Han thought that he was “only knew how to take photos and not work!”

Tiong Keat and Han Han had the help of their military friends to make their entrance into the ballroom a little bit grander than most. With the help of my able musicians, Ian and Edmund, they created a romantic ambience with the first few bars of their march-in song, Someone To Love. The uniformed swordbearers then marched-in, formed two straight lines at the sides of the aisle and raised their swords. When I began to sing,

Finally, she came along
Broke the spell, and set me free
Push aside, what used to be
All the broken hearted man that once was me
I never gave it up, I always believed
When she’s in my arms I know what I’ve achieved

Tiong Keat and Han Han entered the ballroom!

Congratulations Tiong Keat and Han Han! It was a pleasure performing for you!

Compliments from Tiong Keat & Han Han:

Hi,

Han Han and I would really like to thank the band for making our wedding such a memorable one (I’m sorry I didn’t get the name of the two who played the instruments for us).

A lot of our guests gave feedback that the wonderful music really added to the atmosphere of the dinner, and were particularly impressed by it. Hearing all our favourite songs also brought back nice memories for Han Han and me, and as you may have observed, I was actually singing along to some of the duets to keep myself sane as we hurried from table to table to take the photos with the guests!

Of all the different moving parts that we had to coordinate for the wedding dinner, the band was the one that turned out to be the most perfect 🙂

I’m sure we will meet again at some of my friends’ wedding dinners in the future. All the best for 2009! 🙂

Cheers,
Tiong Keat and Han Han
